SUMMARY

The object of the Truth Be Told game is to pretend to know your friends.  Players can score points on questions about other players either by guessing the true answer, or by fooling others into guessing a Bluff Answer.  The game box includes 141 Truth Be Told cards (containing 564 questions), eight dry-erase markers, eight fill in the blank cards, eight paddles, one scoreboard and instructions.

 

In each round, one of the players is the Host, and plays a question card such as, "Truth Be Told, my favorite snack is __________."  The Host writes a truthful answer while all the other players pretend to be the Host, and write bluff answers which would seem like something the Host would have written.  The Host collects and reads all the answers aloud, and players try to guess the true answer to score points.  Bluff answers score points too.  The first player to score 15 points wins the game.

 

Truth Be Told is intended for three to eight players, ages twelve and up.

EASE OF USE
Our review team always treads lightly into the world of games, especially when it comes to ease of use.  Too many games have too many complicated steps that the only person who can truly understand what to do is the inventor.  Let's just say - that doesn't hold true with Truth Be Told!  It is fun to play, easy to play, and easy to get started!  A sample round or two may be in order, but once you work through that you'll be good to go!  And when it comes to games - that means a lot - some of the members of our review team asked if we could give 6 stars for ease of use!
DURABILITY
One of the things that our review team really liked about Truth Be Told is that there aren't hundreds of little pieces that can get lost and then ruin the game.  When actually playing, our team to used the paddles, dry-erase markers and question cards, and they were happy to report all held up well.  They were also sure to add that even if the dry erase markers eventually run out, you can simply replace them or use paper and pen.  No durability issues here.
VISUAL APPEAL
Truth Be Told isn't necessarily the most visual game on the market, but what pieces it does have all look fantastic and inviting.  The colors are bright and the game play is fun.  We noticed that people that were in the room but weren't playing Truth Be Told slowly gravitated towards it.  And that wasn't just because it looks cool, but it looks fun too!
FUNCTIONALITY

Truth Be Told plays well - and will never provide the same exact game any two times.  This is the type of game that the more people that play, and the more diverse they are, the more fun it will be.  This is a great party game, and perfect just the same for a few friends to enjoy.  Put it all together and you've got a super-functional game.
COST EFFICIENCY
In a blind survey our review team priced Truth Be Told right around $20.  With an actual retail price of $27.99 it is priced a little higher than the team would have liked, but not outrageous for a quality game.  If you enjoy a good game, paying a few extra dollars for it shouldn't be an issue - and Truth Be Told is a good game!

ORIGINALITY
Truth Be Told is all-original!  Not a single member of our review team had played anything quite like it.  Learning about each other, making up fun and funny answers, earning points while you bluff gave the whole gang a good laugh.  Absolutely original!
OVERALL RATING
Overall our review team really enjoyed playing Truth Be Told.  This is one of the most unique, and fun games to come across our gang - and they were all happy to play it!  Like we said before, we don't know if it was the laughter or the questions that had everyone gathered around, but something had everyone joining in.  Truth Be Told is priced fairly and it is built to last.  This is one game that will provide hours of fun every time you play!
